Loan period and return

Your loan period is normally one month. Some materials can be borrowed for seven or fourteen days. The return date will be indicated on your loan receipt, on the library's website, or in the Biblioteket app.

If the loan period is exceeded, we charge fees according to the applicable rates. You must pay the fee even if you have not received a reminder about the return.

When you return or renew late, a fee will be charged. If your outstanding balance exceeds 300 DKK, you will be automatically blocked until you are below that amount.

Loans can be renewed if no other borrowers have reserved the material.

If you borrow materials from other municipalities or institutions through Gentofte Libraries, you can renew a maximum of 3 times.

Your loan receipt and your borrower status on the website or in the app show the date by which you must return your borrowed materials. This is the last day you can return or renew the material without a fee.

If you have provided your email address, you will receive a reminder before the return deadline. You can enter your email under your user profile when you are logged in.

You can also receive notifications as push messages in the Biblioteket app.

You must always pay a fee if you return or renew late, even if you have not received a reminder or recall before the return deadline.

You have the option to return materials borrowed from another municipality at Gentofte's Libraries.

However, please note that the materials will not be registered as returned until they have been received by the library from which they were borrowed. By returning materials at Gentofte's Libraries, you risk incurring a late fee.

If you receive messages from the library via email or the Biblioteket app, remember to update your contact information in the app or on the library's website.
