The Gentofte Libraries are closed from Thursday March 12th and until further notice. We will post regular updates on the website regarding the shut down period, extraordinary return deadlines, loan of digital materials, events etc.

Self-service opening hours during the shut down

There is no access to our libraries during the shut down and therefore loans, returns or other activity won't be possible in our libraries. Our online services are not shut down and we encourage our patrons to make use of these in the meantime. Read more about eBooks and digital ressources.

Do you have anything to return while we are closed?

When we open again, you will have 7 days to return your material without any charge. It is not possible to hand in material in the mailboxes during the weeks we are closed.

If you have reservations for pickup

When we open again, you will have 7 days to pick up your reservations.

If you want to reserve materials

 You cannot reserve books on the website or in the Library app, nor can you book in Bibliotek.dk.

All events at all libraries are canceled throughout March

The libraries are working to find new dates for as many events as possible. Keep up to date on which events in English are canceled or postponed in the calendar here.

Can I still use your digital services?

Yes. All of our online digital services are working. we have increased the patron quota of films and documentaries to 14 instead of 10. E-books and audio books at eReolen Global is set at. Read more about eBooks and digital ressources.

When will the libraries be open again?

For now we are monitoring the current state of affairs closely and we will continue to follow the guidelines of the Danish Board of Health.
